A recently concluded Swedish research suggests that the women who are suffering through a history of psychiatric disorders should undergo careful clinical risk assessment for postpartum psychosis.
The Swedish researchers obtained such evidences that de-destabilize the existing premise that obstetric variables are of only minor importance.
A recent study found women to better in perceiving and describing the relationships as compared to the men folk. Men often feel with a biased mind and also lack the sensitivity women are able to show while describing their feelings and those of their romantic partners.
A study was undertaken by a graduate student Dana Atzil Slonim and Dr. Orya Tishby of the ‘Paul Baerwald School of Social Work and Social Welfare’ at the ‘Hebrew University of Jerusalem’, in cooperation with Prof. Jacques Barber and Dr. Carol Foltz from the ‘University of Pennsylvania’ to evaluate the accuracy of the perception and description given by men and women in regards to the their relationships and the feelings associated with them.
While working on a computer model intended to study how the brain deals with certain kinds of visual information, the researchers at Tomaso Poggio’s lab at MIT were amazed to see that the computer model which was not even developed for this purpose, was able to interpret as good as a human brain and at certain instances could do more rapidly than many existing computer systems specially designed for this purpose.
They were using the model computer to study a series of photographs. It was supposed to give a theoretical analysis of how the brain interprets these pictures and how the various pathways work in a brain.
